Beluga Tour

Visit with beluga whales by Zodiac boating or kayaking! These curious creatures will swim circles around you as they try to communicate through sound and maybe even bubbles!

"I couldn't believe how curious and playful the whales were. The belugas bumped my boat and swam right under me, making sure to do a spin in the water to catch my attention." - Jeneva A, 2024 participant

Cape Merry

Part of a larger National Historic Site, this beautiful spot overlooks the mouth of the Churchill River as it flows into the Hudson Bay - keep your eyes peeled for belugas and bald eagles!

"Standing in that spot with the wind whipping all around us, looking into the estuary, it was easy to follow Ryan's narration of Frenchmen coming into the river's mouth and getting shot at by the English fort. So cool!" - Raea G, 2016 volunteer

Ride

Enjoy sweeping views of the tundra on our helicopter ride out to Nester One camp. It is easier than you think to spot caribou and polar bears!

"I was in awe flying over the terrain. Already my perceptions of what the tundra looked like had been shattered. Spotted with lakes and beautiful copper colored rivers, we hadn't even gotten there and I was already amazed." - Michael L, 2009 participant

Cape Churchill Hike

Learn from the land and it's inhabitants on a 30km+ walk from camp Nester One to Cape Churchill and back.

"There was a different feel on this hike. I travelled at the “Wapusk pace”; slowly soaking in all the elements, and feelings of pure peace. No noise pollution, no cell phone service, and no worries, led to one of the most enjoyable afternoons of my life." - Rachel K, 2014 participant

Community

Service

Give back to the people of Churchill by lending a hand on a service project. This will have you restoring buildings and community spaces, and getting warm fuzzy feelings.

"It was amazing to see how so many people can make such a big difference in a northern community in such a short time." - Vince Z, 2015 participant

“Go my children, burn your books. Buy yourselves stout shoes. Get away to the mountains, the deserts, the deepest recesses of the earth. In this way and no other will you gain a true knowledge of things, and of their properties."
